Analysis of Window by - Pass Mechanism in Split Shared

چکیده

A Markov chain model for evaluating the performance of a multistage ATM switching fabric using split shared buuered switch elements (SE) is proposed. By comparing the results obtained from the proposed model and simulations, it is shown that the model is accurate in the presence of uniform and non-uniform traac in the switch. To eliminate the innuence of head of line blocking, a non-FIFO queueing discipline approach called a window bypass mechanism is considered. By comparing the results obtained from the proposed model and previous models, the performance of ATM switches constructed of diierent buuered SEs is also studied .
